NYS Senate budget will include $45 million in additional Medicaid for agencies that provide assistance to people with disabilities

“Passing this wage hike for our direct care workers is one of my top priorities and it should be one of the top priorities for the governor and the Assembly as we enter budget negotiations,” said NYS Sen. James Tedisco, in a press release.

NYS Senate Republicans To Recommend $45 Million Increase To Support Fair Wages For Direct Care Professionals

The proposal addresses a lack of funding in the Executive Budget to help appropriately adjust salaries at not-for-profits that employ workers who provide state services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
