Events Unfolding Fast In D.C.

The ACA repeal with the Medicaid cuts is very fluid with many nuances, rules and details.

  • On July 25 the Senate voted narrowly to begin debate on a bill to repeal major provisions of the Affordable Care Act, but hours later, the Republican plan to replace President Barack Obama’s health law fell short of the votes it needed.
  • The Senate is expected to continue to attempt to pass some form of an ACA repeal and send it to a House/Senate Conference Committee.  It is unclear if they will be able to pass something that meets all the rules and if there will be any Democrats on the Conference Committee.
  • NYS House Republicans continue to be key to fending off massive Medicaid cuts.
  • Below is a link to a letter that CP of NYS has signed on to the NYS Congressional Delegation encouraging them to vote no on cuts.
