When people with disabilities protest, then, in public and physical ways, they grab hold of old stereotypes and point them back at their creators.
A New York lawmaker on Tuesday proposed requiring state institutions for the disabled to publish report cards on the number of cases of abuse and neglect.
America’s major physician organizations are recommending something, strongly and in unison: The latest health-care bill, known as Graham-Cassidy, would do harm to the country and should be defeated.
“The number of people with comprehensive health insurance that covers high-cost medical events would be reduced by millions,” the report says.

Nearly Three dozen groups representing consumers, health care and human service workers, providers of supports and services and insurers have signed a letter to the New York State Congressional Delegation urging them the reject the Cassidy-Graham bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This bill has significant support and could be brought up for a vote in the U. S. Senate in the next few days. If passed by both houses of Congress, the bill wold cut billions of dollars in funding to New York State.
