Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State specializes in a wide range of primary care and speciality medical, dental, rehabilitative and psychiatric services for people with disabilities.  Our physicians and clinical staff specialize in meeting the health care needs of children, adolocents and adults with developmental disabilities.  We also serve the non-disabled.  Our skilled and compassionate team of health care professionals provides a comfortable and caring atmosphere.

Audiology Services

Comprehensive hearing assessment services are available in our Audiology Clinics.  Services are available to children, young adults and senior citizens.

Services include:

  • On-site audiological evaluations
  • Hearing aid evaluations and prescriptions
  • Hearing aid maintenance and repair

Dental Services

Three dental centers are conveniently located in Staten Island, Brooklyn and the Bronx.  Our experienced dentists and dental assistants specialize in serving the various needs of our patients.  Our professional staff has extensive experience in serving people with developmental disabilities.  Our centers are available to treat both adult and pediatric patients with disabilities and their families.  All centers are wheelchair accessible.

Mental Health Services

Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State is a nationally recognized leader in providing behavioral health services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.  Our clinicians are dedicated to providing highly specialized diagnostic, clinical outpatient treatment and educational consultation services for children, adolescents and adults with development disabilities.

Rehabilitation Services 

Our Highly trained and professional team of physiatrists, speech language pathologists, and occupational and physical therapists concentrate their efforts on providing the best services possible, focussing on the abilities of people rather than their disabilities.  Many of our clinicians are certified by the Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America (RESNA).  Our centers are equipped to assess, prescribe, order, and maintain a variety of rehabilitative equipment and devices.  Patients are offered an array of choices to meet their rehabilitative needs.

Mobility and Adaptive Equipment

  • Mobility Equipment/Devices (power/manual wheelchairs, scooters, walkers)
  • Individually designed custom seating systems including, pressure relief cushions, custom molded seating, and standard manufacturer ready products
  • Bathroom equipment (tub benches, shower chairs, grab bars, commodes)
  • Direct Care Equipment (hoyer lifts, transfer devices, helmets)

Prothotic/Orthotic Splinting Services

  • Provides ankle/foot orthosis (AFO),
  • Braces
  • Customized shoes & body jackets
  • Upper extremity splints (custom or pre-fabricated)

Augmentative Communication Services

Provides individuals who have speech/language impairments or are non-verbal with an alternative means of communication such as letter/picture boards and electronic devices.  Services include:  assessment and recommendations which may include direct speech pathology intervention, and family/caregiver training.

Dysphagia Services

Designed for individuals who have deficits in swallowing due to acute or chronic illness.

Services  include:

  • Assessment and recommendations which may include change of diet
  • direct speech pathology intervention and family/caregiver training.

Assistive Technology Services

  • Evaluation and Training for computer access (adaptive switches, specialized keyboards)
